AxonIQ Closes Series A Funding to Enter US AI Market

0
AxonIQ has completed its Series A funding round, led by existing investors AVP (formerly AXA Venture Partners), Volta Ventures, and Trifork, bringing its total raised to over $18M.

The Series A funding will support the company’s expansion across three strategic priorities:

  1. Accelerating U.S. market penetration and GTM initiatives
  2. Advancing its platform with agentic capabilities, and
  3. Building its U.S. leadership team to support its accelerated growth

Addressing Enterprise AI’s Core Pain Points

Enterprise adoption of AI is rapidly accelerating, but structural bottlenecks persist. A recent McKinsey report found 70% of top-performing companies experienced difficulties integrating data into AI models, including issues with data quality, governance, and training data availability.

AxonIQ addresses these challenges by providing the foundational architecture that binds and makes transparent enterprise-level AI systems with a single source of truth.

“The AI boom has created a fundamental problem for how companies think about data, systems of record, and scalability,” said Jessica Reeves, AxonIQ’s new CEO. “Today, nearly all AI focuses on models and applications, but the biggest challenges and opportunities reside in backend infrastructure – the event streams, data pipelines, and orchestration layers that make AI applications reliable, scalable, and truly usable.”

New Leadership with a Track Record in Open Source and Enterprise AI

The company appointed industry veterans and former Anaconda executives Jessica Reeves as CEO and Barry Libert as Chairman, strengthening its leadership team to meet growing U.S. enterprise demand for complex AI orchestration.

Jessica Reeves brings deep expertise in scaling open-source companies, including over seven years at Anaconda where she served as COO and interim CRO, helping the company reach its unicorn status with over $150 million in ARR and a $1.5 billion valuation – profitably. Prior to Anaconda, she served for two years as Head of Operations for venture-backed healthtech company ClearDATA, building on her operational leadership roles at other earlier startups.

Barry Libert previously served as a board member, as well as CEO and Executive Chairman at Anaconda during its hyper-growth phase. He brings decades of experience in category creation and enterprise market development, joining AxonIQ to help the company tackle the U.S. market for its next growth phase as a native AI company with the ambition of creating another unicorn.

Global Traction and Enterprise Adoptions

Since its founding, AxonIQ has seen strong global adoption, with more than 73 million downloads across 65,000 companies and thousands of GitHub stars for its open-source components. Its platform is trusted by leading enterprises in fintech, healthcare, and commerce, and is now in use at 80% of Fortune 100 companies.

The new investment builds on the strong technical foundation established by AxonIQ co-founders, Allard Buijze and Jeroen Speekenbrink, who continue to serve as the company’s Chief Technology and Chief Product Officers, respectively.

Enterprise customers have deployed AxonIQ’s platform for operational gains. One large Swedish furniture retailer saw a 2400% performance gain, while others achieved 98% faster time to market and 6x more rapid deployment cycles.

A Three-Layer Platform Purpose-Built for Enterprise AI Infrastructure

AxonIQ’s full-stack platform delivers unique value at each layer to enable reliable, scalable, and explainable AI applications through event-driven architecture.

  • Foundation Layer establishes the robust infrastructure needed for enterprise AI deployment, providing complete audit trails and historical context that traditional systems lack.
  • Intelligence Layer orchestrates business rules and system coordination, bridging the critical gaps between data and decision-making.
  • AI Layer enables advanced agentic capabilities, empowering organizations to evolve from simple chatbots to fully autonomous AI agents.

Together, this unified approach addresses the most pressing challenges in enterprise AI deployment, delivering the comprehensive event-driven architecture that modern organizations need to build trustworthy, scalable AI systems.
