Upsun, formerly known as Platform.sh has announced the launch of Upsun Dispatch™. The new software factory brings AI agents and cross-functional teams together within a governed development workflow.
AI coding tools have rapidly evolved from autocomplete to agents capable of taking on substantial development work. However, despite code production accelerating, delivery isn’t speeding up and the bottleneck is shifting elsewhere. Teams now have more output to review, more decisions to coordinate, and more risks to manage.
Running more agents this way can leave developers repeatedly providing context, supervising work and switching between tools, while the wider organization has limited visibility into what is happening.
Dispatch takes a workflow-first approach. Agents handle work inside isolated sandboxes, while workflows define how work progresses and where human judgment or approval is required. Prompts, code changes, approvals and costs are captured as the work happens and logged against each run.
The platform launches with Automated Code Review and Issue-to-Code workflows, alongside plan-approval gates, allowing teams to automate more of the development process while retaining human control over the decisions that matter.

Dispatch is designed for software teams already using AI and beginning to encounter the limits of agents managed by individual developers. It helps teams:
- Bring the wider software team into the AI workflow. Engineering, product, design, security and QA can participate in the same governed process, with human input where it is needed.
- Keep human judgment where it matters. Approval gates allow agents to handle more execution without developers supervising every action manually.
- See what happened and what it cost. Prompts, diffs, approvals and usage events are captured as they happen, while every run’s cost is attributed to the workflow that generated it.
- Work alongside the existing stack. Dispatch is model-agnostic and stack-agnostic, with GitHub and GitLab supported at launch, allowing teams to use agentic workflows without tying their software development process to a single model ecosystem.
The platform grew out of Upsun’s own experience adopting AI across software development and has been tested ahead of launch by a founding cohort of design partners across agencies, software companies and education organizations.
