10ZiG Technology announced support for the newly released Omnissa Horizon Client for Linux 2606, delivering major video decoding performance improvements on compatible 10ZiG endpoint devices powered by Intel and AMD processors.
The Horizon Client for Linux 2606 release introduces substantial improvements to VAAPI video decoding performance on systems using Intel and AMD GPUs, with performance gains of up to 2x. The enhancements are designed to improve the performance of remote desktops and published applications delivered through Omnissa Horizon.
Through an ongoing technology partnership, 10ZiG provides Omnissa with thin client devices for testing, optimizing and validating Horizon Blast Extreme performance across 10ZiG’s Intel- and AMD-based hardware portfolio. The collaboration enables both companies to test Horizon releases against purpose-built endpoint hardware and optimize the experience for mutual customers.
Testing of the new 2606 Linux Client demonstrated significant performance improvements on the 10ZiG 7100q Series, powered by the AMD Ryzen R2514 processor, and 10ZiG 7300q Series, powered by the Intel N100 processor. Performance gains were validated across the codecs supported by each model, including H.264 (4:2:0), HEVC (4:2:0) and, on the 7300q Series, AV1, as well as imaging based and lossless codec options.
Horizon Blast supports a range of codecs for remoting screen content, including H.264, HEVC and AV1, and can take advantage of GPU hardware acceleration when supported by the client and agent hardware. The performance improvements in Horizon 2606 therefore provide organizations using supported 10ZiG endpoints with an opportunity to deliver smoother, more responsive virtual desktop experiences while maximizing the capabilities of endpoint GPU hardware.

10ZiG Moves Toward Omnissa Ready Certification for Horizon 2606
As an Omnissa Ready partner, 10ZiG is currently working with the Omnissa Ready team to complete certification against the Horizon 2606 release. Certification is planned for eligible 10ZiG NOS™ and PeakOS™ models that support VAAPI video decoding, giving customers validated options for deploying the latest Horizon Client capabilities across secure, centrally managed endpoint environments.
