Distributional Expands Leadership Team to Support Enterprise AI Applications

Distributional has expanded its leadership team with the appointments of Erin LeDell as Chief Scientist and Bonney Pelley as Chief Operating Officer.

LeDell, a 20-year AI veteran, previously founded and led DataScientific, Inc., an AI advisory firm, and served as Chief Machine Learning Scientist at H2O.ai, where she developed the first open-source enterprise AutoML algorithm. Pelley brings over 25 years of senior management expertise to the Distributional leadership team, having served as COO at mParticle and SVP of Strategy and Operations at New Relic, where she helped scale the company into a category leader. At Distributional, LeDell will oversee scientific innovation and product strategy, while Pelley will manage enterprise-wide operations to support growing demand.

“My passion for building AI products, conducting product research and advising companies in the AI space led me to Distributional, and that deep foundation is why I am so bullish about what we’re building,” said LeDell. “Distributional fills an important gap in the current market, one that I was invested in before I reconnected with Scott Clark. This role is an opportunity to apply what I know about developing, designing and shipping AI software to Distributional’s mission of helping customers build reliable AI through testing, and ensure we’re building a product that will become an invaluable component of the modern AI stack.”

“Distributional is at a pivotal inflection point in their growth journey, and I’m looking forward to bringing my experience in scaling category-creating companies to the team,” said Pelley. “For over 25 years, I’ve specialized in leading strategy and operations for SaaS companies while building high-performing teams to better serve customers and their end users. Distributional has already surpassed initial deployment milestones, and my focus will be continuing to develop our strategy and driving execution that will enable us to capitalize on this huge market opportunity.”

The company’s growth follows its successful $19 million Series A funding and initial enterprise deployments of its AI testing platform that gives AI engineering and product teams confidence in the reliability of their AI applications, reducing operational AI risk in the process. As AI leaders are increasingly under pressure to ship generative AI, Distributional provides intelligent suggestions on augmenting application data, suggesting tests, and enabling a feedback loop that adaptively calibrates these tests for each AI application being tested.

“We’re excited to welcome Erin and Bonney to our leadership team, and leverage their knowledge and experience to accelerate building our enterprise AI testing platform,” said Scott Clark, co-founder and CEO of Distributional. “Our team of engineers and researchers are on a mission to address the new enterprise challenges that arise with AI applications, especially with applications built with LLMs— which are often non-stationary, non-deterministic, and complex, multi-component software systems. With the expertise of these new leaders, we will continue to build a strong foundation that ensures enterprise confidence in AI, earns developer and customer trust, and generates business value for organizations deploying AI.”
