Atlassian Ecosystem Leading Partner, Isos Forms the Cornerstone of Acacia’s Strategy

The Acacia Group announced the launch of a pure-play Atlassian investment strategy with the acquisition of Isos Technology. Isos forms the cornerstone of Acacia’s strategy to build the leading partner in the Atlassian ecosystem, enabling enterprise customers to accelerate their digital transformation initiatives.

Isos, founded in 2005 and based in Tempe, Arizona, is a professional and managed services business enabling customers to design, implement and scale their Atlassian environment, driving stronger performance for growing organizations. Led by CEO Thad West, who founded the company in 2005 with Chief Information Officer Sonny Coccera, Isos has a team of over 90 Atlassian-accredited specialists. Isos is a highly valued partner in the Atlassian ecosystem, having been named Partner of the Year in the Enterprise category in 2019 and in the ITSM category in 2020.

Central to Acacia’s growth strategy for Isos is its combination with the Atlassian practice of MajorKey Technologies, a company at the forefront of Acacia’s commercial digital transformation portfolio. MajorKey’s team of Atlassian specialists brings a highly complementary skill set to Isos, with deep experience in consulting, cloud migration and ITSM services for their customers. Like Isos, MajorKey’s team is a Platinum and Enterprise Solution Partner to Atlassian and was named Partner of the Year: ITSM Solutions in 2021.

“The visionaries at Atlassian have created products and tools that are mission-critical to the digital transformation of businesses worldwide,” said Craig Dawson, co-founder and partner at Acacia. “By combining the outstanding Atlassian teams from Isos and MajorKey, we are creating a new powerhouse to deliver on the full potential of Atlassian tools for a new generation of customers while also building deeper, more effective relationships with current customers to drive more value from their Atlassian investment. We have been highly impressed by the quality and reputation of the people at Isos and are delighted that our valued colleagues from MajorKey’s Atlassian team will be part of another compelling growth story within the Acacia portfolio.”

“I’m thrilled to team up with Acacia and MajorKey to expand our service portfolio and strengthen our position in an already impressive Atlassian partner community,” said West, CEO of Isos. “The complementary skill sets and talent that Isos and MajorKey bring to the table will create an even more impactful experience for our customers, who are — and always have been — our No. 1 priority. I’m also excited by the opportunities this creates for people from Isos and MajorKey as part of a dynamic and growing business with a culture centered on collaboration and innovation. We’re looking forward to a very bright future together.”

The newly combined business under Isos forms one of the largest in the Atlassian partner ecosystem. Together, they have over 120 employees supporting hundreds of customers across the United States. As with all its portfolio companies, Acacia will work closely with the Isos management team to invest in its organic growth strategy and plan to make further acquisitions from the Atlassian partner community.

“Isos and MajorKey have been trusted Atlassian partners for many years,” said Cameron Deatsch, chief revenue officer of Atlassian. “It’s great to see these highly skilled teams joining forces with the backing of Acacia. This move aligns with Atlassian’s enthusiasm for enterprise partners capable of tackling more complex programs on a larger scale alongside a willingness to invest in advancing the Atlassian mission. We’re looking forward to the positive impact the strengthened Isos team will have on unleashing the power of teamwork for customers across the U.S.”

Acacia’s investment strategy with Isos is grounded in the market traction Atlassian continues to build by providing an end-to-end solutions suite that enables scalable, cost-effective digital transformation. This is fueled by the growing need to bring software development and business operations closer together, increasing nontechnical engagement with agile tools and practices. The simplicity of Atlassian products makes this challenge much easier to meet.
